Eliya is a Senior Manager leading the Her Resilience Our Planet (HROP) project. He is a strategic leader with 18 years of experience managing projects at the intersection of climate resilience, enterprise development and natural resources management. With a background in natural resources management, he brings diverse experiences leading complex projects across sectors and industries including Agribusiness, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Value Chains Development, Climate Change Mitigation & Adaptation, Carbon Finance and Forestry Management – mostly in international corporations, iNGOs and bilateral assistance programmes.
He is an experienced value chain and market systems development expert with wide experience in agricultural commodities including Tobacco, Coffee, Forestry, Agribusiness and SMEs. He is well known for building partnerships, advocacy and lobbying. For about 10 years, he has been leading medium-size projects and managing complex multi-partner interventions.
In his early career, Eliya spent significant time designing and leading implementation of carbon projects via globally respected climate standards such as Climate Community and Biodiversity Standards (CCBS) and Verified Carbon Standards (VCS) creating gold standard forestry projects which became world’s first projects in that category achieving validation and verification.
