Christina John is the Senior Manager, Fundraising at CARE Tanzania, with over 10 years of experience advancing women’s economic empowerment, climate justice, and food, water, and nutrition security through sustainable agriculture initiatives.
She leads project design, resource mobilization, and donor engagement efforts, focusing on women-led agriculture, financial inclusion, climate change adaptation, and natural resource management. Through her leadership and technical expertise, Christina has successfully mobilized more than USD 25 million in funding to support impactful development programs across Tanzania.
A strong advocate for CARE’s Farmer Field and Business School (FFBS) and Community Score Card (CSC) approaches, Christina has played a key role in integrating gender-transformative methodologies into agricultural value chains, community development initiatives, and national advocacy efforts since 2014. She has worked closely with Tanzania’s Ministry of Agriculture and Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) to institutionalize the FFBS approach within national agricultural extension guidelines and university curricula, contributing to the sustainability and scalability of farmer-centered development models.
Christina holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Rural Development and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Project Management. She is recognized for her strategic thinking, partnership-building skills, and commitment to designing innovative solutions that improve livelihoods, strengthen resilience, and promote equitable development outcomes for women, communities, and vulnerable populations.
