The Kukua ni Kujifunza (KNK) project was implemented in the Iringa region to help farmers unlock the soybean value chain and produce revenue while improving food security and nutrition by teaching them effective practices. 3,825 women from 15 communities in total have benefited directly from this project.

CARE Tanzania trained extension officers known as Wagani Kazi (Para Professionals), who served as farmer leaders before the KNK project began. They received training to teach other farmers general information about soybeans, from planting and processing to marketing.
