CARE Tanzania Signs MoU with Mwanamke Initiatives Foundation to empower young women with leadership skills

CARE Tanzania is proud to announce a significant milestone in our efforts to strengthen partnerships and promote local engagement and leadership.

This partnership reflects our shared dedication to advancing gender equality and fostering community development.

Ms. Prudence Masako

On July 17, 2024, CARE Tanzania signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Mwanamke Initiatives Foundation (MIF), a respected non-profit organization focused on improving the lives of women, youth, and children through advancements in health, education, and socioeconomic wellbeing.

The MoU signing, which took place at the Mwanamke Initiatives Foundation headquarters in Unguja, Zanzibar, formalized the commitment between CARE Tanzania and MIF. Ms. Prudence Masako, CARE Tanzania Country Director, and Ms. Sabra Mohamed, CEO of Mwanamke Initiatives Foundation (MIF), sealed the agreement, marking the beginning of a collective vision for sustainable change.

At the core of this partnership is the launch of the Young Women Leadership Program (YWLP), a new program funded through recent acquisitions. Designed to empower young women with inclusive leadership skills and promote gender equality, the YWLP will initially benefit 50 young women over an 18-month period, with plans for continued expansion to achieve a broader impact.

As we move forward in this partnership, we are committed to increasing the presence of women in leadership roles, ensuring that women can thrive and reach their full potential
