CARE Tanzania took a major leap forward in empowering the country’s youth by signing two transformative Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs). These agreements aim to equip young Tanzanians with essential entrepreneurial skills and financial resources to launch and sustain successful ventures. The first MoU was signed with the Project Management Institute (PMI) Tanzania Chapter, while the second agreement was sealed with Tanzania Commercial Bank (TCB).

The MoU signing ceremony, held in Dar es Salaam, was led by Ms. Prudence Masako, Country Director for CARE Tanzania. Representatives from PMI Tanzania Chapter, Tanzania Commercial Bank, and CARE Tanzania, as well as other stakeholders, were present to witness this milestone event.

“These agreements build on the success of CARE Tanzania’s ongoing projects aimed at fostering youth entrepreneurship and leadership. Our youth-focused projects, such as the USAID Kijana Nahodha Project and the Young Women Mentorship Project, have already demonstrated the transformative potential of investing in young people. With these new partnerships, we are creating pathways for even more young Tanzanians to become agents of change in their communities.”  Stated CARE Tanzania Country Director Ms. Prudence Masako on emphasizing CARE’s commitment to youth empowerment.

Strengthening Youth Entrepreneurship and Project Management Skills

The partnership with PMI Tanzania focuses on enhancing entrepreneurial and project management capabilities. As part of this MoU, young people across Tanzania will have the opportunity to gain critical skills that will prepare them for the dynamic and competitive world of business. PMI Tanzania brings its expertise in project management training, which will be crucial in turning ideas into viable, scalable ventures.

Mr. Kheri R. Mbiro | President of PMI Tanzania Chapter

We believe that project management is a key driver for sustainable development, and by equipping Tanzanian youth with these skills, we are contributing to the future of Tanzania’s economy.

Financial Access: Unlocking Opportunities for Youth Entrepreneurs

The second MoU with Tanzania Commercial Bank aims at capital empowerment, ensuring that young entrepreneurs have access to much-needed financial resources. This partnership will open doors for youth who are ready to turn their business plans into reality but are held back by a lack of funding. TCB’s commitment to offering tailored financial solutions to young entrepreneurs is a game-changer for their long-term success.

Mr. Godfrey Patrick Mbilinyi | Planning and Strategy Manager at Tanzania Commercial Bank

At TCB, we understand that access to finance is one of the biggest barriers for young entrepreneurs. Through this partnership, we are dedicated to providing innovative and flexible financial services.

Mr. Godfrey Patrick Mbilinyi

These partnerships mark an exciting new chapter in CARE Tanzania’s mission to create lasting impact through youth empowerment. With the support of PMI Tanzania and Tanzania Commercial Bank, the future looks bright for Tanzania’s next generation of business leaders and changemakers.
