"Recover, Regenerate, Act: Africa’s Solution to Food System Transformation.”

CARE International in Tanzania participated in the Africa’s Food System Forum 2023 that took place in Tanzania at the Julius Nyerere International Conventional Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam. The AGRF 2023 theme was “Recover, Regenerate, Act: Africa’s Solution to Food System Transformation.”

CARE Tanzania’s aim is to advocate the Famers Field and Business Schools approach in this forum. The model will help small-scale farmers and producers build the skills they need to increase production, improve resilience, adapt to climate change, diversify diets, and boost nutrition. The approach also enables farmers to access markets, sell at competitive prices, collaborate with one another, and engage in beneficial decision-making.

CARE Tanzania, through the FFBS approach, aspires to transform the status and recognition of women by supporting them to be successful farmers, producers, businesspeople, leaders, and agents of change.

The Africa Food Systems Forum (AGRF) is the world’s premier forum on African agriculture and food systems, bringing together stakeholders including policymakers, farmers, agribusinesses, development partners, and civil society organizations to take practical action and share lessons that will move African food systems forward. The forum provides a platform for discussions, collaborations, and commitments aimed at advancing agriculture and food security on the African continent.
